Professor Haonan Lu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. He holds a PhD in bioinformatics and cancer biology from the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre at Imperial College London, UK, and subsequently trained as a postdoctoral researcher in cancer imaging and theranostics at the Imperial College Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre.

His translational research addresses epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), with a particular focus on ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) and high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC). He combines computational analysis of tumour evolution and tumour–microenvironment interactions with the development of antibody-based therapies, aiming to address unmet clinical needs in these diseases.
